The Bright path
How a child's first year at BRIGHT unfolds
Five steps, repeated on a monthly cycle for as long as your child is with us — so the plan keeps pace with your child, not the reverse.
Comprehensive assessment
We evaluate speech, motor skills, sensory processing, cognition, and behavior together, so we understand your child, not only a diagnosis.
Parent orientation
We walk you through the assessment findings and the programs that fit, in plain language, before any therapy begins.
An individualized plan (IEP)
Every child receives a written plan built around their specific goals — never a fixed curriculum applied to everyone.
Therapy, with monthly video updates
Your child works with the specialists their plan calls for, and you receive a documented video update on progress each month.
Monthly review and adjustment
We meet with you every month to review progress and revise the plan. Development is rarely linear, so our approach isn't either.
In more detail
What actually happens at each step
Step 01
The assessment usually takes place in a single visit. We look at speech and language, fine and gross motor skills, sensory responses, cognitive skills, and behavior together — not as separate appointments spread across weeks.
Step 02
In the orientation, we explain what we observed in plain language, without jargon, and walk you through which of our programs actually fit — not a generic package, only what your child's assessment points to.
Step 03
The individualized plan (IEP) names specific, time-bound goals — for example, a target number of new words, or a specific self-regulation skill — so progress can be checked against something concrete, not a vague sense of "doing better."
Step 04
Therapy sessions run on a fixed weekly schedule with the specialists the plan calls for. Between visits, you get a monthly video update — real footage of your child's session, not a written summary alone.
Step 05
The monthly review is a sit-down conversation, not a report emailed to you. We revisit the goals, discuss what's working, and change what isn't — before the next month begins, not at the end of a term.
Questions about the process
Logistics parents usually ask about
How long does the first assessment take?
Plan for a single visit dedicated to the assessment itself, with the orientation conversation either the same day or scheduled shortly after, depending on your availability.
How soon do we get the written plan?
The individualized plan is built directly from the assessment findings and shared with you at the orientation, so you leave with concrete next steps rather than waiting for paperwork.
What if the plan needs to change mid-month?
The monthly review is the routine checkpoint, but you're not locked into waiting — if something isn't working, tell your child's therapist and we'll revisit it sooner.
Do all five steps repeat every month?
The assessment and orientation happen once, at the start. From there, therapy and monthly review repeat on a cycle for as long as your child is enrolled, with the plan itself revised as needed at each review.
